I have long been an admirer of Nel Noddings. My exploration of her work has taken me from my first introduction to the ethic of care when I said, “yes that’s right, why aren’t others talking about this?” on through her discussion of the aims of education to include (if not be primarily) happiness, and most recently to the topic of this post: Teaching Global Awareness (2006). In addition to merging her ideas in brief here, I will point out their relevance to our findings on participatory action research (PAR).
