Announcing our first international virtual meetings
We are pleased to announce our first two synchronous virtual meetings on the Future(s) of Education. Limited to 20 people, these two meetings will take place on Tuesday 2 June, 2009. At 7am and 7pm GMT (with a 15 minute grace period from 6:45 for participants to test the software) and running for one hour the agenda includes:
- Updates from participatory sites
- Discussion of Minimal intrusive education (see website links to Hole in the Wall project under Pilot Studies)
- Discussion of opportunities and challenges
- Discussion of next steps/recruitment of new sites
Prompted by a visit from Judy Dunn (host of the Isle of Wight team), and making use of Dimdim meeting rooms, participants with webcams will have the opportunity to be seen as well as speak, others may chat and still others (who live in an area where broadband is limited) may use phone lines to call in rather than rely on audio over slower speeds. We will make us of slide and whiteboard options to work collaboratively on ideas.
Please email Alana at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to reserve your space in one of these meetings. we ask all parties to wear headphones in order to avoid echo for those speaking. You may also find screen capture software a benefit to capturing collaborative notes. Please RSVP if you plan to attend before Monday 1 June to make the invite list.
